Watch out! There is a guy named "Brian" who will come up and frantically start wiping your windows and dancing around your car at your local car wash (in the Phoenix area). He is a fast talker and acts like he is part of the car wash facillity (but he is not). If you have a small crack in your windshield (like I do), he will offer to fix it "for free, as part of your service here" with a small glue gun. He asks you for a valid insurance card, under the pretense of making sure you have coverage before he begins work.

Before you know it he will be making a claim to your insurance company. It happened to me! Why if it's "free" do you need to claim it with my insurance?? I was furious with the guy for pulling a fast one on me, and I felt scammed. He then told me it was $35 if I didn't claim it. I ended up paying him $20 to get him out of my hair, and so he would discard my insurance information.

As far as I can tell, the "Apollo Auto Glasss Repair and Replacement" is not even a real place.
Furthermore, I am furious with Prestige Car Wash, on Scottsdale Road for allowing this guy to hang out and scam people. Of course two minutes after he was done with me he was gone.

Chip repairs

Tue, December 19, 2006

I was recently notified that the company I work for had a rip off report on this site. After a search I found 1 report.

I am the office manager here at Apollo Auto Glass and be assured WE ARE a real and legitimate company. Our sales techs are located at car wash's around the valley and they all wear polo shirts WITH the apollo auto glass comany name clearly printed on them.

The sales techs are told to NEVER say "FREE" the repairs are done at no cost to you the consumer. The insurance company is billed for this proceedure. It is a very small amount compared to a windshield replacement. If the repair were free do you actually believe that we would ask for the insurance information? and why would you just give that information out to someone who said it would be "free"?

THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ACTUALLY PREFER TO PAY FOR A CHIP REPAIR.

This is the case because the chip repair is a preventative measure to lengthen the life of your windshield, and it costs much less than a windshield does.

This customer could have called the office and I would have listened to her complaints and concerns and taken care of it. SHE DID NOT. I am very sorry that she had this expirience and did not fully understand that it was to be done at no cost to her.

Look at all the other glass companies. They post ads, and give out flyers among other various forms of advertising. they offer FREE items with the replacement of a windshield. Next time you see one of those ads call the company and ask if you were to pay cash if that promotion would still apply to you. IT WILL NOT.

You are very welcome to reply to this ad the office number is on the report feel free to call me anytime I would love to speak to you. I would have preffered to speak to you first about this instead of finding it online. I once again will apologise for your perception of our company and feel bad that you felt you were being "scammed".
