I purchased a 9yo paint mare who was reported to be an easy to ride, safe for trail riding,  appropriate for me at age 65 to do dressage.   Had a complete prepurchase exam without drug test.  That was a mistake! At my house she is flighty and afraid of any quick movements, very tense to ride in the ring, and completely scared to go trail riding alone.

I contacted her prior owner in PA who stated she was way too much horse to be considered a "family horse" and that is why she sold the mare.  I contacted Becky Peckham to ask what bit to use as this horse simply shakes her head sideways, chomping at the bit and constantly opens her mouth.  She stated that she just needed a fat snaffle.  That has not helped at all. Do not trust this horse dealer.
