Appliance Repair of Texas / Carrollton, Texas

I have a Samsung Refrigerator that started making noise, (the refrigerator is only 2.5yrs old, and cost $1400.00), I called Appliance Repair of Texas. The office personell told me a service call would be $64.95, but if I needed a part, this would be deducted toward the art.

They did send a technician within 2 hours, but I won’t mention his name. Of course it was ice interfering with the fan. Now I had been ill and did not research common problems through the web of my Samsung..So Shame on Me for getting Ripped Off!

The Technician did defrost the back panel of the refrigerator and proceeded to tell me I needed a New Central Board. (Found out later this is a common problem with Samsung, and No you don’t need to replace the Central Board because of it freezing up. (Adjust the temperature)

He also gave me his personal cell #, and said”Call me next time before you call the main #, that he works on all household appliances.

He told me I had to pay for the part that he had to order, $ 339.00 up front then the balance of $125.00 to install it+ tax so all total, the invoice #242833 came to $ 491.96. Feeling ill, I just said fix it. Mistake! (also the invoice does not even have Appliance Repair of Texas anywhere on it).

The Technician showed up the next day carrying a opened small Fed X box with the part in it.

He laid the new part on the counter next to refrigerator and I made a mental note of the part’s placement on the counter, the way it was laying in the box, etc. The Technician took off the back panel on refrigerator while I watched. This part has quite a few wires with connectors on it that connect to the refrigerator itself, which are not easy to disconnect, especially someone with large hands. I noticed he was taking his slow time disconnecting the wires and I walked like 15 feet away for maybe 10 seconds, and he said “Oh I replaced it already”..IMPOSSIBLE!

At that point, I knew he was lying and just wanted him out of my house, but before that, I had to make another check out for $152.96, which I stopped payment on that cost me $25.00 to do through my bank.

After a visit to the Dr., the next morning I just kept playing it over in my head how I was ripped off by Appliance Repair of Texas! I called their office in Carrollton and talked with the dispatcher and she said they would review my case, as the same Technician had been accused of the same senerio within the past year..

I have continually tried to check back on the progress of my case and now they refuse to answer the phone when they see my phone# come up on Caller ID.

Please help me get my money back from being Ripped Off by Appliance Repair of Texas!

I’am a Widow with a part-time job..
