ApplianceSmart And/or Frigidaire Appliance Smarts way of doing business = Close the sale sell the warranty then plead insanity when the dishwasher breaks Apple Valley Minnesota

We purchased a Frigidaire dishwasher from Appliancesmart on 12/26/2003. It cost us around $500.00. It was supposed to be top of the line etc. The model number is FDB989RCC. The serial number is TH33338332. It had a 3 year warranty.

We were happy. We had a new dishwasher, stainless steel front ,super quiet and most of all we were tired of doing dishes by hand every night for a family of 6.

Well about 6 months went by and it quit draining after the wash cycle. So we called the warranty/service dept at Appliance Smart and after about 10 days they came out and fixed it.

About 3 months later it wouldn't fill with water. So we reapted the whole service thing 10 days later.

About another 2-3 months went by and we were startled awake by the smell of electrical -plastic smoke smell and the dishwasher entire motherboard had melted down. You couls see charred plastic inside the dishwasher. So we called again and they came out and replaced pretty much the entire guts of the thing.

To make a long story short, these types of incidents includeing total motor failure twice and the grand finale of dumping 10 gallons of water on our newly installed brazilian cherry wood floor. This happend the first tim I ran it hours after the motor was replaced for the 2nd or 3rd time. I called Appliance smart and told them I wasn't comfortable even running the thing anymore, no matter what. I wanted a replacement and not a Frigidaire.

This took place about 5 months ago. After numerous call to the service manager who really doesn't care. ANd numerous calls to the corporate office who never calls back and no one is ever available to take our call.

Our dishwasher is now a 500.00 drying rack that stinks. Oh but as an added bonus part of our floor is ripped up as well and we cant really procede with finishing out kitchen because Appliance Smart wont even call us back. I guess they hope we will just give up and go away. Its funny, the old dishwasher that came with the house that was the oridginal, was about 22 years old and worked flawlessly for 10 years for us before it died. And it wasnt anything special. Our new one didnt even make it 6 months without trouble?

Whats up with that Frigidaire? 500.00??? for what??

I will never own a Frigidaire appliance.

I am a contractor and when I am consulting clients, I make it a point to tell them not to buy from Appliance smart or a Frigidaire.

I hope what you made off my sale is worth all the negative publicity. All I want is a replacment, which given the circumstance's any average, normal , middle class ,hard working person that makes up your customer target base would want the same. But I guess you dont really care about anything or anyone except your bottom line.
