 Aqua America provides water for our neighborhood. We have been billed $629.17 for water usage dating back to June 8, 2012 to April 12, 2013.

I have called several times:

1)      To request why my bill was consistently $31.31 (in July 2012)

2)      In April 2013 to request why my bill was $629.17

a.      I was told the electronic meter readers were not working

b.      My meter was working properly and read properly my usage from 6/2013 to 4/2013

c.       I could set up a payment plan for $57/month which included my bill and past due amount

3)      Receive notification of payment plan where my bill would be due, plus the $57

a.      Did not make that agreement with the first person I talked to

b.      Asked to speak to someone else to see what we could do

c.       Transferred to a voice mail, left message, never received call back

4)      Received a phone call on 6/17/2013 that my water will be cut off on 6/25/2013 if payment in full is not received

 

Do I have any recourse?

1)      Cannot make the payment in full

2)      How can I ensure the amount is correct when they have been having equipment problems

I have a payment plan set up now, but still have issues with confirming the amount is correct. They 'threw the old meter away' because they realized (after a year) that it was not reading correctly.
