Yep. I worked a 9-hour 7AM-4PM day for a bowl of soup and here's how they got me. Helen Schwoerer contacted me for an interview which seemingly went well. The job, delivering clean uniforms and picking up dirty ones while upselling gloves boots and goggles and floor mats was seemingly straightforward. While she waits on a background check you are sent to ride shotgun with a driver. Sounds like a job offer right? WRONG! Its part of the INTERVIEW process!

Now if Helen Schwoerer frames the request to you properly..."as part of the interview you will be required to acompany a driver on his route", you will say "I'll get back to you on it, right?

Now I sense a trap but my wife says "play ball with her, she's offering you a job." So I did and I earned a bowl of soup. I do not envy the driver either who I think made $75.00 that day based on the receipts he turned in (you get 9% of the receipts for the day) He was being nagged by his wife all day long on his cell phone probably about bills ;-).

When I got back the two district managers Joe Pipon and Paul Dursi were nowhere to be found. They were possibly laughing it off on board a docked truck somewheres about how you were faked out by Helen for a free day's work.
I have a spotless license and have never been arrested, graduated from local schools and I don't smoke or drink so its not my background. No messages returned and no e-mail answered for weeks now and if they were to leave a message it would probably be group laughter. I submit that this is not Aramark corporate policy - just a bored recruiter playing games with the unemployed while she sets up for the next wave of layoffs.

That's when I can expect a return call. Then I may have a job for 4-6mos until the NEXT round of layoffs. So Helen fakes you out on a "job offer" wait until your first day on payroll to play "driver's helper".

Ask yourself this question.  Does that Aramark rebuttal look like the writing of a "hard working" 5-year employee to you?  The cold blooded lizard employers at Aramark need to give us working people credit for being smarter than their thieving rich parents informed them we would be. I give thanks to the web and sources like Ripoffreport.com for keeping slime like tis exposed in the light.

Ride A Long is with an RSR All Star.

#5UPDATE Employee

Mon, November 16, 2009

Hey,  first I must say I'm an employee of AUS and have been for 5 years so far.  That Ride a Long you went on is a part of the interview process.  My MC and depot are both located in NY as well and I KNOW FOR A FACT that part of the interview process is a ride a long.

The ride a long is an assessment to see if you are "cut" or the "right" one for the position.  The driver you are usually made to ride with is usually a Route Service ALL STAR.  They report back to management on whether they think you could preform the essentials of the job.  If you don't try to interact at all with the customers you are servicing or stick your nose on the Bill signing you are probably not going to get a good reporting.

$75 for the day?  That was obviously a "service" day where you just service accounts which have more then one service a week.  With a few garages and national accounts in between which is probably how the $75 was earned.

I personally have some stops which don't bill on every day I go there but then on the billing day its for $x,xxx service.  (Sorry but I don't think I'm allowed to disclose actual amounts.)

Also,  I've gone down to Philly for RSR Training.  I stayed in the Hilton which is next door to Aramark Tower, went out one evening with the group to Open Bar at Dave and Busters, and was FED some great Philly Cheese Steaks for lunch.  I returned home 3 days later with the SAME exact $ in my pocket.

So to complain about doing a ride a long, I can easily see why you were not hired for the position.  As for not envying the driver for his "light" service day you obviously missed the whole point of a ride a long.

just got fired from there in medford, Or yesterday. I went through the same crap when i got hired. even finished my last day at previous job and they told me no background check back yet. worked there for 90 days and was supposed to get araise and benefits kick in but nope branch manager says he isn't sure i'm a good fit for company so he wants to extend my probationary period 60 days. if i don't sign the sheet agreeing to it...no job. I was hired as a relief driver...just supposed to fill in on vacations and train in between...i was there 5 months and only learned how to order clothes, read invoices and do daily paperwork. A sales contest starts at work for their trips and stuff they do. he sets a 25 dollar a week minimum for sales and even though we start at 4 or 5 in the morning no one is allowed back at dock until 1:30pm to unload. when i was let go on wed one complaint was i had worked 36 hours in three days(relief drivers are hourly) so iwas going to work a 50 plus hour week and my OT was killing the budget......a month prior when i came in one night around 5 i apologized for getting in so late..he said i don't care as long as customers are taken care of....also some of the route i ran i would look and look for something that was on the invoice to change it or restock it only to discover it doesn't exist(mats are the most common) but everyone is ok with that at aramark. anyway the poor guys whose route i was running while he was on vacation was called in to work since i was terminated even though the dms know the routes as well!!!! they told us constantly at the meetings that we are thw #1 depot in the COUNTRY in the uniform division....some of the guys have been there 17 years, and 13 years, and our branch manager.....28 years...don't know how they made it that long.......

Aramark Westchester Screws Over Applicants / Rapes The Unemployed

#5Author of original report

Mon, February 25, 2008

I finally got through to Westchester Assistant GM Helen Schwoerer at her 845-549-9928 voice mail jail number and she could not recall who I was. She stammers through an awkward personal folk story about herself while she thumbs through her files - probably the same folk story she gives every "file" that calls, and then she spits out the following gem:

"We're still conducting another round of interviews and we'll be getting back to those applicants that we're still interested in."

In other words: "Got ya sucker!!!" Not even the tone resembles the call you initially receive to come to their building on 3 Westchester Plaza Elmsford to meet them and where Helen Schwoerer will frame a request for a free volunteer work-a-day as if she is preparing a job offer for you.
Helen Schwoerer is very smooth, very warm, and coldly deceptive. "We're just waiting until your name clears." she tells you in a very cocky and confidant manner.

Let's recap: Assistant GM Helen Schwoerer of Aramark Uniform Services Westchester canvasses Monster, Career Builder and Hot Jobs looking for unemployed job seekers to fool with. She calls you and asks you to bring a driver's license and a social security card with you as if she is going to put you to work that day and then you will be put on a truck as an "observer".

Helen Schwoerer will even introduce you to the "bosses you will be accountable to" yet (district managers) Joe Pipon and Paul Dursi and even Helen Schwoerer herself are names that are not even on the digital dial-by-directory when you call back the 914-347-8129 switchboard number later that week to discern just what happened to you - an indicator of how just many people they mugged.

Aramark is simply mis-posting classified ads and abusing the unemployed job seekers who respond to them. I remain 100% confident that no one at Aramark will respond or reply to this posting because snakes hiss but they don't make loud noises.

Conclusion:
ARAMRAK UNIFORM SERVICES WESTCHESTER IS NOT HIRING!
BYPASS THEM FOR AN INTERVIEW!
