August 2005 I refinanced my home with Arbor Mortgage.John Taylor was the broker who handled my loan. At first everything seemed to be fine. I was told that my loan would take about two weeks to complete since I had already obtained and provided John with the documents he requested to complete the loan. Shortly after that things began to go south. John had not done any of the things he promised to do including contacting the bank to see what my payoff was. These were documents I had already given to him but somehow he had lost them which meant it would take a little longer for my loan to be processed. I requested a loan for $85,000 with a payment of no more than $600 dollars a month with land taxes and insurance included. John told me that he had found a lender but in order for me to be approved the lender requested that the loan be no less than $91,000. He said this way I would be getting more money back than I had requested. Closing was supppose to take place at my home with John Taylor(broker),Betty Lambert(notary, closing agent rep with national titles agency of michigan) and myself on August 15,2005. That morning I called John and we went over the good faith estimate he had provided me with. John told me that the good faith estimate was the same as the final settlement documents. He said the only difference was that my interest rate had gone down. John never showed up for closing and the documents in which Betty Lamebert had did not reflect what I had been promised at all. Once again I contacted John with my many concerns about the documents he sent to the title office. I was told that those were the wrong documents and that he would be bringing the corrected ones with him. Since he never showed up I refused to sign the papers. Shortly afterwards he calls me pleading with me to sign the papers. He even had his boss speak with me. They told me that in order for there not to be any more delays I needed to sign those documents and they would correct them once they recieved them back. They had the documents fedx to my home the next day and I signed them with the understanding they would correct the mistakes. No one was here to verify anything and the documents were not sent back to them until August 19,2005. On August 20,2005 I recieved several checks by fedx. Only the check for the payoff of my house loan was sent to the bank. All others were mail directly to me and I was told to hold on to them until they made the necessary changes. They said once that was done they would be re-issueing the checks to me in my name. None of this happen. It took me three months, after closing,to get some of my money back.I am still owed a lot more. Because of their reckless behavior it has cost my family dearly. Not only did they rip me off but they have caused me and my family to become victims of their predatory lending practice which has affected us and my credit in ways you could'nt imagine. They need to beheld accountable for their actions. Why should the consumer have to pay and suffer for their actions. I need legal help to make them accountable for their actions so that no one else falls prey to their practices.
