Arcadia Financial LTD / Olympic Financial ARCADIA KEPT MY MONEY- Lied about REPO Sale Eden Prairie
In May 2001 I was laid off from work and couldn't make my payments to Arcadia/Olympic Financial, therefore I fell behind. I had a 92 4Runner which was repossessed when I had only a few payments left. After dealing with their rude collections dept, I was able to get the $3200 I owed and in good faith sent Arcadia the money they quoted me. Then they just sent it back saying they could sell my truck for more money at an auction and started asking for more $$.
I kept asking them what happened and how did they figure what I owed but heard nothing. They never gave me an explanation and sold my truck and kept all the money. Almost a year later they they sent a check for $760 without an explanation. Two years later I was able to get Arcadia's paperwork about the sale only after I hired a lawyer.
Then recently (Sep 03) I found out through the car auction that Arcadia lied in their paperwork about how much the truck sold for. They owed me over $2000 but only sent me $760 without any explanation at all. Crooks!
I have a court date of Nov 3, 2003 if anyone has been wronged by Arcadia please contact me by clicking on the rebuttal button. I am wondering if Arcadia is lying to YOU about how much they sell the repossessed cars for? I would like to hear from anybody that would know.

Joseph, I know exactly how you feel. I brought a 95 Nissan Quest in Dec. '95. In 1996, I quite my job because I needed to complet my master with student internship therefore there was no way I could work and do the internship plus I was about to give birth to my son. I completed my Master's in December 1996 and moved to TN where my spouse obtai a pretty good job. I never found work in my area here, and things got rough. Well, I was paying Arcadia $462/mth. I tried to get the payment reduced, they claimed they could only reduce the payment by $20-some help right! Then we tried paying them bi-weekly-that didnt help because they would call about the payments and I would tell them it was sent and then after investigating they stated that the monies PROBABLY went toward interest. We were constantly fixing the same part on the vechicle and trying to pay the high payment. I was threatend, treated like a nobody on the phone that I refused to talk to them anymore. They would called anytime in the morning or night. Then my husband decided to talk with them to make arangements. That didnt work, he finally told them to come at the vechicle. We were at our last straw with them and was glad thehy came at it. Then they sold the vechicle for only they claimed $1500 and I still owe over $9,000 on the vechicle. No way, I had only 8 more months with the months that I was behind. How they concluded that the amount was this is beyond my wildest dreams. I am still an unemployed mom and they sold the account to a credit collection. They even rip them off. I told her that another company was asking for a settlement that my husband and started to pay off but I convinced him that something was not right, that I was getting too much conflicting information. The collection company ask me for the name and address of the other collection company and I gave it to her. She was angry!.. Bottom line I refused to pay the balance, I dont care about my credit report because Arcadia already has it screwed up. They constantly report to the credit bureau like the account is still open, it's been closed for 3 years and plus they have it as a involuntary repo which is not correct. Tried going thru the credit bureau but they claimed the info is reported corrected. I dont know whether I should get a lawyer or what. Will someone please help me nail these robbers known as Arcadia Financial.

I purchased a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible back in 1999. I deferred two payments to the end of my loan. No one mentioned the accrual of any interest, just that the payments would be deferred and I would have to pay them at the finish of my loan. I paid my entire loan and was ready for the last payment. At that point, the payment went from 710 dollars to 3326 dollars!!! HELLO!! I tried to work with their people but I got so mad and so frustrated that I gave up. I finally spoke with one person who was half-way helpful, but they still gave me the run-around. They can't reposses anything as the car was stolen, but they have the 3326 on my credit report with a chargeoff amount of, go figure, 710 dollars. I have tried several times to contact them, but they are horrible. I would strongly warn anyone against doing business with this company as they are, in my opinion, extremely unethical.

I had a loan from Arcadia and voluntary reposessed my 1997 VW Jetta. They told me they sold it for 6000 dollars, however I have never seen paperwork to prove this. I don't mind the payments to them, however I would like to make sure I am Paying the right amount.

As stated in my report I have been told my account is paid in full, but I know and they know this is not true. I have asked for my car title and have not received a response. So now my car is in hideing and the repo man is looking. I will contact a lawyer here soon to clear this up. But I refuse to have happen to me what has happened to so many. I wish there was a way we can all get together either on a chat line or something and arrange a class action against Arcadia.
Oh...by the way if arcadia is reading this. If I find your repo man trying to get into my garage again at 2am I will have him arrested. It is illegal in this state to try to enter someones home for that purpose.

I got a loan through Arcadia in 04/00, it was a 96 camaro. Like I have been reading the intrest was so high and I had been paying monthly and the balance seemed to barely go down. I ran into some financial problems and so I had called to get that month deffered. Everything went well they told me it was deffered I got her name and everything. So the next mont I was running 1 week late on my pymt. I woke up one morning and my car was gone I was actualy going to make the car pymt that day, I called them and got the run arround I even offered them 1000.00 right now to get my car back they told me no I have to pay off the loan. I was so upset cause this was not my fault they thought I was 1 month and a week behind when I was really 1 week. They wouldnt work with me at all. The woman I spoke with wouldnt let me talk to anyone else and told me I was never going to get my car back because she said I had an attitude with her! I bought the car for 10,000.00 the intrest made it almost 20,000.00 they repod my car in 10/01 Then they had said they sold my car for 2,500.00 and were trying to tell me they were going to garnish my wages for the rest and take my taxes every year. For the amount of 9,000.00. Doesnt that seem strang I would love to get a lawyer but I cant afford one I know they are in the wrong and I should still have my car!
