The early part of 2007, I was facing a foreclosure. I received tons of mail from a company called "ARCC" stating that they would save me from foreclosure if I paid into this investment program and file a Chapter 13.

How it was supposed to go is that I pay $1500.00 to the company to file a Chapter 13 for me, however, even though it was a lawyer (bankruptcy attorney at that) involved with this company, I would have to represent myself as a Pro Se Debtor (meaning I would have to represent myself in court).

In the meantime, the company would find and investor or someone to buy my home from me, given me the opportunity to still live there, thus preventing the foreclosure and then after about 1-2 years when the company would also help you rebuild your credit you are able to purchase your home back from the very same investor with the promise that the investor would not sell it to anyone other than you (the current owner).

Needless to say, after I spent my $1,500.00 I still lost my home, the company switched phone numbers, noone was ever in the office and now they operate under a different name.

I filed a report with the Ohio Attorney General's Office, made police reports but nonetheless nothing has been done.

I am a single parent with 2 boys who was desperate to try to save our home and look at what this company did to us. I have had to start all over because my furniture and sentimental belongings like baby pictures and awards from my children's academic achievements were all thrown out.

Please be aware of these type of scams and stay away from them no matter how desperate you may be at the time. It costs you a lot more in the long run.
