In May of 2008 my husband and I moved out of the Sawmill Crossing Apartments. We had lived there for 3 yrs. During our time there we noticed soon after moving in that the carpet was coming apart at the seams in several locations. We informed the office of this and Maintenance came and inspected the carpet on several occasions. He told me and my husband each time not to worry that it was not our fault that it was installed incorrectly. I also asked him each time to please put this in our file as I did not want to be charged for this.

Soon after moving out we received a statement from them that we owed $232.89. I was advised that in order to dispute it I would need to put my dispute in writing and was told I could do so via email. So that is how I submitted my dispute. I was told I would get a response within 30-60 days. I never heard back and called the dispute office several times leaving several messages non of which were returned. At that I assumed they had dismissed the charges. I even left alone that fact that if they had not charged me for the carpet I would actually have been owed money back for my deposit.

(June 14, 2010) I received a phone call from Meade and Associates stating that they were a collection agency and this account had been handed over to them this week. I informed them that I would be contacting the apartments because I feel these charges are not justified and got the address to send a letter to Meade and Associates stating that I would be disputing this.

I called the turnover department for the propety management and left a message. I received a phone call at from a man who introduced himself as TC and he went on to speak to me very disrespectfully. Telling me that it didnt matter that I had disputed the charges I still owed the money. I kept telling him I had a question and he continued to interrupt me. Finally he let me ask why I had never received a response to my dispute. He then said it didnt matter I should have just paid or tried to call. I stated to him that I did but never would get a call back. He kept trying to talk over me and then told me that if I did not shut up and listen he would hang up. I said excuse me and he hung up.

He then called me back at . He told me I just needed to pay the bill. It didnt matter what I had to say. I tried to tell him that this was horrible customer service. He then told me that I would not be able to play the customer service card with him. That I was no longer a customer and that even when I had been living there I was not a customer I was a "product". He said that if wanted customer service I would have to own an apartment. He told me to go ahead and sue them because I would lose anyway. Again he hung up on me.
