In October of 2002 I was hired by this company as a mobile tech. I was given a truck 2 credit cards a cell phone a computer scanner 1000 dollars worth of parts. It was somewhat like being a private contractor. I was paid 205 a week salary plus commision.

The job went ok for awhile but I found myself working increasingly more hours every week and I did not think that I was compensated correctly on my commisions.

I have been a mechanic for over 20 years and I am a hard worker and very competent. I was told at the end of August that I was making alot of stupid mistakes and that I should quit because my boss had hired another tech and that they would be OK without me.

This piece of news was accompanied by a check for 13 dollars. When I was hired they started taking out money every week that they refer to as an impound account. according to my records there is 1566.56 dollars in there and I also accrued about 35 hours of vacation time. When I went to the owners home in North Phoenix to get my final check he informed me that he could hold this acct. for 90 days even though I turned in every piece of equipment in good shape. I dont think this is legal.

The auto repair business in this town is a pain and I have entered another field. If I get an attorney he will spend all the money recovering the money. I dont know what to do. Any legal advise would be appreciated and I like your site. Thanks
