Complaint Review: Armando Tire Services BloomingtonIL

 On 11/3/2015, My spouse brought his 2000 Toyota Avalon to this shop. Reviews online were good and since we are new to his town the shop was recommended by neighbors. We got there and told the mechanic about some shaking the car was doing and how the engine was idled very high. We asked for a diagnostic. After leaving the car over the night the mechanics told us that the service engine light was dismantled that's why it never came on. Also stated that the car needed two sensors replaced. Feeling relieved my spouse agreed to the service. on 11/4/15 the mechanics quoted us a price of $350 to fix this problem. Fine..Fix it.

After repair the mechanic said OK all done the car is fine. Then we completed the transaction. As soon as we leave this place we got on the highway and the car was shaking again! What did we pay for?? My spouse brought the car right back. After further investigation the owner Armando says that the cars timing belt has slack in it and it must be replaced. Now he wants an additional $600 for repair!! Why wasn't this problem reported in the diagnostic that we requested the other day, I'm not sure.. My spouse nearly loses his mind. The mechanic offered him a refund. NOW that I am back here for the refund which is literally less than 24 hours Armando will not honor that statement.

I even offered to pay for the parts but to no avail he refused! He has the nerve to Call the police on me. Now I am patiently waiting. My suggestion to you is to never ever bring your car to this establishment. They are all con men who commit highway robbery on anyone they see coming. The whole point of a diagnostic is to tell us what's wrong with the car and not to fix what you choose and try to charge us more when the issue isn't resolved! Save yourself the trouble. Never come to Armandos Tire Repair in Bloomington for mechanic work. Get your tire fixed and leave it at that!!
