Complaint Review: Armored Lock

Armored Lock is a dispatch service at 800-974-1623. They adverstise as emergency locksmith service and post their pricing on their website as well as provide it by phone. Their website is www.armored-lock.com. We were locked out of our house and we called (big mistake). They estimated our price to be $19 for the trip to our house, and $25 minimum for lock repair. I agreed. The locksmith came after about 30 minutes. He assessed my lock which is a standard lock (not high tech, not complicated, nothing fancy, and really old). I then asked him to confirm the estimate to which he said it would be minimum $120 - $170. We were really surprised and called armored-lock 1-800 back to discuss it. The agent on the phone was argumentative, disrespectful, and offered no good explanation as to why their prices are so off. Further, the guy on the phone had no interest in resolving our situation which was; the locksmith having taken his time to get to our home, and us being locked out and having been lied to about the pricing. In the end I had to hang up on the armored-lock agent, and I had the locksmith just break the lock and offered to pay him $40 for his time. Now I have another repair to do. Apparently these guys get a fee for sending the call to the locksmith. So for them it's easier to lie to a desperate customer and create a situation where they are sure to get the call - that's why they make their prices so low.
