First of all, I am a College student. I dont have very much money and not the best credit. I was in a car accident on Dec. 19th and totalled my car. I walked into Armstrong Ford of Homestead, on Dec 28 Thinking they might be able to help me. I was surprised how helpful everyone was at trying to get me the car I wanted. So the contract was drawn, and I was amazed at what a good deal I was getting. The contract stated my car payments would be $318 a month and I would put 1,000 dollars down. since I did not have the money they told me I could write two Post dated checks for $500 dollars each. They also told me they would pay the balance of my exsisting car loan which was $1636. So It sounded great to me. Well I had the car for 3 weeks, then I get a phone call telling me I need to come in to talk about the financing. I was confused but came in anyway. They told me I would have to put down 2,300 more and my car payments would be $351. I said forget it take the car back because that is not the deal we made. all this back and forth for a few hours until Marcel Thegenus the general sales manager told me he would call me at 3:00p.m later that day. I recieved a call, not from Marcel, and the person gave me a conformation number and a telephone number and said call this place. It eneded up being a financial institution, and I was wondering why I was calling? Isn't that their job? The next day I get a text message form the guy who sold me the car, saying to call the finance manager, when I called him he said I never told them to tell you to call me. So now I'm fed up. Today I go down there to find out what is going on and decided to give the car back. When I got there they made me call that financial institution again! I decided the best choice was to give the car back so I did. When I got home I noticed They cashed one of the checks so I called the dealership to tell them to give me a refund and Marcel the sales manager told me I would not be able to get it back since I had the car for 3 weeks. I think this is very unfair, because its not my fault they could not give me a deal they promised. That dealership is a joke. I would recommend that nobody do business with these people. All they do is make promises that they cant keep.
