Where do I begin to start with this company. I am an X employee to start off. Lets talk to the customers looking to buy from Armstrong Steel first ok! Do not believe one word out of the sales person's mouth....75% of it is a LIE! They tell you its has a 50 year warranty well in fact when you sign the agreement it doesn't have a warranty any where on it. So if something happen you are SOL. They also claim they have the best building on the market when in fact it is very close to the cheapest. i will explain more about this soon. The customers are not getting stainless steel Fasteners as well. What ever the sales person is telling you it is a LIE. They say once you sign off on Fabrication forms you will have your building in about 4-6 weeks. LIE! try 4-6 months. To explain my situation I was only there for a few months and didn't know this was happening. NOW, They will tell you one price for it up front and all you have to do is put the deposit down then when it gets to the (back of the house) as we called it, the client would up charged a hell of a lot more.

Let me give you some numbers to think about and see if this makes since. The sales person would get the price of the steel and freight so we thought any ways and then charge 1000 profit on top of that. The sales person would make anywhere from 500 to 1500 depending on how many sales he did that month. Yes I said 1500 mmmmmmm u follow me so far. Meaning how does he get paid 1500 on something that only had 1000 profit on. Well Ethan who is the President and Eric who is the Vice President tells us the building only cost so much when in deed we all ready had 3 to 8000 profit on the building when the clients signs up. This is not counting the crazy BS lines they give you in the back of the house when they up sale you on things that you were already promised from the sales men. So not only are they lying to the customer they are lying to their own employees. Meaning the Labor board would have a field day with this one.

Now as far as I go I got hired on and had let them know about a vacation I had already set up 5 months in advance to me working there. Also that I see my doctor every 10 tens and that this is a must see kindof thing. Well since the GM that hired me got dropped down I had to tell someone about my vacation which was coming up in 2 weeks. I had told Eric the VP about it then later on that day I went to see my doctor. The time frame of me leaving is around 3:30 every ten days so i eat my lunch at my desk and take my lunch when I go see the doctor. This means I am only not working for 30 minutes out of every ten days. Needless to say they packed my stuff up as soon as I left and put it in a box up front. Also didn't pay me what was due to me as well. They didn't have the balls to come tell me why I was fired but I new why because of vacation time that they don't like anyone to have but them. We have to all wear suits and ties when they come in in jeans not shaved t shirts and hats. Looking like bums.

Anyways I would not buy a building from these guys or ever work for them.

Please review Armstrongs rebuttal to the report above and the associated links. 

This posting purports to be written by an ex-employee, and references a lawsuit against Armstrong by General Steel.  Regardless of whether a competitor or ex-employee is responsible for this posting, the Court dismissed virtually all of General Steels claims against Armstrong because they were factually or legally unsupportable. General Steel has not prevailed on any claims against Armstrong in this case. Armstrong has shaken up this industry by providing an innovative approach for customers high quality buildings at a low price with unmatched customer service from experienced, non-commissioned Project Managers available to assist customers at every stage in the process.

My name is Eric Beavers and I am Vice President of Operations here at ASC.  It is apparent that this poster and other former employees and/or competitors have decided to use this website as a vehicle to attack Armstrong or gain an unfair competitive advantage through misrepresentation.  As someone who has worked hard to build a company and provide industry leading service, it is difficult to see posts like this without responding to them. 

This particular posting was made by a disgruntled former employee who was discharged from his employment.  He has admitted that his statements were false and defamatory.  Further, a court has entered an injunction to prevent this poster from making additional false and defamatory statements against Armstrong. Unfortunately, this former employee is not alone but acted in concert with other former employees and/or competitors.  You will note that these malicious postings are not from actual customers with legitimate complaints  but are obviously personal attacks on Armstrong and its employees.  Armstrong has initiated efforts to subpoena information regarding the other few postings so the record can be set straight  as it was in response to this posting.        
 

Here are the actual facts.  Armstrong has grown from a small steel building supply company to one of the most prominent pre-engineered metal building OEM manufacturers in the nation. Armstrongs growth and success are the direct result of its willingness to offer low prices, excellent building quality, and superior customer service in a way that cannot be matched by its competitors.  Armstrong is accredited by the BBB and has serviced thousands of satisfied customers throughout the United States.  Armstrong also takes pride in providing excellent compensation, benefits and perks to those employees who meet Armstrongs high standards of conduct and fulfill its core mission to exceed our customers expectations in terms of building quality, cost and customer
service.

Further, the management here at ASC takes great pride in our seasonal sale offerings and the sales bonuses we give to our dedicated sales staff, particularly during the winter holidays. These are the times when our people need the most from Armstrong. The same goes for our customers who have made Armstrong what it is today! We will not apologize for selling our quality buildings with little margin on them and we will not apologize for letting customers select their own accessories rather than relying on a commission paid salesmans word that the components in question are quality built and suitable for the application. Would you blindly let a home builder choose your kitchen finishes or the floors in your new home? If you did, would you expect him to supply you with high quality competitively priced finishes with little to no mark-up or would you be concerned that he may source the cheapest components available with the highest profit margin? The quality of our buildings speaks for themselves, as does the competitions lack thereof. A smart shopper views accessories in the same manner! Dont let anyone pick out doors or other accessories for you. Here at Armstrong we empower our customers by letting them govern their own project. Armsrong's customers can select their own accessories locally or direct from some of the nations largest suppliers. After all, you only get to build each building once.

I agree with the last poster whom is also an ex-employee.  Everything he stated is the truth.  Any prospective employees of this company should look for long term employment elsewhere.  You will be fired after a few months even if you are productive or not.  You might get paid, you might not. 

There is a huge lawsuit in process where the owner of Armstrong steel is being sued by his previous employer General Steel.  You can find all the court documents online.  If you have paid or will be paying a deposit on a building with Armstrong Steel you might not receive anything now that the jury trial will start in 5 months.  As you read the court documents and depositions, ex-employees have stated that the owner of Armstrong Steel plans on making as much as money as possible before the lawsuit and going out business.  Where would that leave you if you are waiting for a steel building to be delivered?
Well Once again you might get your building, but also you might not.  Sounds like an expensive "what if".

As a potential steel building buyer/builder.  DO NOT be mislead with lies and sales tactics.  At a minimum like the last poster said 75% will be BS.  By far the majority of companies you might purchase a steel building thru will just be brokers with slick gimmick-ed salesmen.  DO NOT put your good money down on a deposit without a final cost on your total project! 

With proper due diligence find the actual manufacturers (steel building companies) whom OWN their own manufacturing plants.
