I moved from Los Angeles to Virginia in August. I spoke with Natalie Trump from Arrowflight Van Lines after seeing that the Better Business Bureau gave this company a B grade (normal for a moving company). She said that ArrowFlight would be in Virginia 7-10 days after they picked up my things.

First, I had to pay more money than they quoted me. I found out that without my knowledge or consent, they had used another moving company (ALL AMERICAN VAN LINES in Florida) to transport my things. Then, I could not get ahold of the driver of the truck to find out when my belongings would be delivered. The dispatcher (goes by Aaron or Ron) then began telling me that it would be 7-10 more days.

Two days later I received a phone call from the president of the company, Raphael, who told me the driver was "missing" with all of my things. Two weeks later, the police found the driver and put him in jail, but the trailer with all of my belongings was nowhere to be found.

We went to the two addresses they have listed (one on their website, a different one on my contract with them), and there were no offices at either location. On the phone, Arrowflight refused to reimburse me for anything--not even the moving costs I had given them when they picked up all of my things! About one month later, they disappeared. Their phone numbers are disconnected and even their website is gone. They might be still working under 123 Movers.

I never did receive any of my belongings. All of my pictures, clothes, furniture, kitchen supplies, EVERYTHING is gone.

Yes, you were duped by the classic moving scam, but that's irrelevant right now. Contact moverescue dot com. They may be able to intervene and figure out (1) where these clowns went, and (2) where your stuff is; most important is (2). If you track your stuff down (I suspect it's in storage somewhere), my guess is that you'll have to hire another firm to go to where your stuff is and haul it back to Virginia. My guess is that these guys went out of business (it's pretty common in the moving industry) and if that's the case - getting a financial recovery will be next to impossible.

You contracted with a broker (Arrowflight) and that was REALLY bad because the broker has no responsibility except to set you up with a mover. If the mover sucks, they don't have any responsibility for it. Set you up is exactly what they did to you. If you move again, use an agent for a major company ONLY - they are not going to go out of business and are the most reputable in an industry that has so many disreputable companies. You don't EVER need to use a broker.

BTW - I didn't see what Northstar did; I'm sort of familiar with them, having grown up in the valley and I know where their warehouse is. What was their role in your move, because it is not evident here. Did you mean to put ALL-AMERICAN?
