First off, I am writing this for my customer on their behalf, an elderly / handicapped couple in Glendale, AZ. They initially called ARS Rescue Rooter because of what appeared to be a water pipe leak.

The service tech after inspection told them it was the piping to their existing solar hot water system. The system was over 10 yrs old and were told the right thing would be to replace it with a new solar system. They did.

When they applied for the state incentive from the utility company they were declined due to ARS not being properly licensed. The couple were advised from the utility to call in an outside third party to investigate. The results were several pages long detailing poor craftsmanship, failure to follow manufacturer's instructions and failure to follow plumbing code. Which is where I was called in. I am a licensed plumbing contractor with solar thermal exp.

A complaint was filed with the AZ. Registrar of Contractors, a hearing was held. The proprietor, did not attend w/ counsel. The hearing detailed the lack of proper licensing, the poor workmanship and the reluctance to care about the customer.

Because of an error at the RoC office, they mis-filed the results which ruled against ARS Rescue Rooter. Now they are suing the couple because ARS acted illegally and got caught.

If I could show you pictures of this you would never allow them in your home.

I could go on and on about the legal process but you don't want to hear it. Suffice to say ARS Rescue Rooter is not a company that follows the rules of ethics.

I would like to update my post about ARS Rescue Rooter. On November 23rd. ARS's regional manger
paid my customer the equivalent of a new solar hot water system, paid off the original note for the system & the correction order costs.

First Thank you for finally getting involved and getting this resolved in an honorable way. I would also like to say that accepting responsibility goes further. Accept the punishment the RoC put forth. There are ways to keep people working without having to lay them off as was threatened by the licensed party. Working without the proper licensing is against the law. Pleading lack of knowledge over something you are supposed to know and stay informed on is not an excuse.

Doing the right thing is not always easy, doing the next right thing is usually even harder . . .
