Complaint Review: ARS Rescue Rooter

ARS Rescue Rooter Charged $192 for a ten minute job Internet

My wife called them to report a washing machine that had stopped working.  They came out, and within a matter of minutes they had found and fixed the problem.  They charged her $192 for this and left.

I made repeated phone calls over a two month period to see if we could arrive at a reasonable accomodation.  I alerted them ahead of time that I would file complaints on line if they were unwilling to work with me on this.

But when I was finally able to get a definitive response from them, it was, in essense, "tough luck".

How much do you get paid?

These technicians need to get paid too and the company needs to make profit. If he tell your wife the price and your wife agreed to it, then get over it. He's not scamming or did anything unethical . How much do you want them to charge you? $50? $75? or even $100? Imagine this, If you run three service calls and each call is $100 x3 = $300 for the day - sale tax, federal tax, insurance, worker's compensation, maintanance on the car, building for training, gas, and oh the TECHNICIAN's SALARY, marketing, the office staffs that called you, ect, ect ,ect ,ect. GET THE PICTURE? If you don't want to pay, then fix it yourself. Otherwise, don't compaint about pricing. I own a window company and yes I will charge you $700-$1000 per window even tho the window only cost me less than $150 and took me 30 mins to put in each window.

Your right Mac,TOUGH LUCK.You pay these folks for what they know,NOT what they do.Get over it.My guess is that these folks gave your wife a price BEFORE any work was performed.I'm sure that they told her what it would cost and NOT how long it would take.Maybe you should not leave your wife in such a position of importance.I bet you even let her buy food on her own! This kind of freedom will bite you in the ........ some day.
