Complaint Review: Artist Management Incorporated Aka AMG

Artistic Management Incorporated advertised in the Washington Post on Sunday, September 12th for actors, models, singers interested. I called the listed phone number and was asked to come in with a snap shot and was told I was going to read a commercial script. That was the only information that was given to me.

So instead of bringing in my best headshot and resume, I brought a photo copy of one since that's all they asked me to bring with me. After reading the commercial script and doing a model runway walk in front of other people, I met with Terry Groman and he asked me if I had representation as an actor. I told him that I didn't and he asked me why. So I told him that I didn't know and he said that he thinks that I know why and pulled out the photo I gave him. He then told me how unprofessional it was and said that's why the agencies I've applied at haven't called me. I told him that I wasn't told to bring in a professional head shot and then he said that I need to market myself better. I then asked what does AMG do? He said that they do what the actor, model, or singer wants them to do. He said, they are "unique" in that they are in between what an agency does and what a management company does. The answers weren't descriptive and he asked me to come in the next day to bring my best head shot and resume and he would give me more information about the company. After I scheduled to meet with him, I changed my mind after talking it over with a friend.
