I have a small budget. It is enought to cover all of my bills. I have to plan expenses and my finances down to the dollar so that I don't go into overdraft. Arvest, however, plays "rearrange the transactions" when my balance is low so that I go into overdraft, and so that I have multiple overdraft fees.

For example: I have $500 in my account, and five bills to pay that total more than $500. So I have to be overdrawn. I plan it out, and on Monday I pay via website for cell phone ($150), water ($55), Netflix ($8), and Lunch at QT ($3). These post to my account. My account shows that I have $284 left. So on Wednesday I pay my $290 electric bill, so that I only have one overdraft fee, right? WRONG!

On Thursday they rearrange my transactions to look like I paid $290 electric bill, then $150 phone bill, then $55 water, and then $8 Netflix, and last my $3 lunch. They change the post dates to this order so that they can charge me 2 overdraft fees instead of 1.

But Surprise! Here is another purchase I made on Sunday. It is only $1.50 online purchase of a ringtone from Verizon's website. Just a little thing I forgot about from 5 days ago. Arvest moves the post date to Thursday after my lunch. So now I have 3 overdraft fees.

This should be criminal. Especially after the Bank of America class action lawsuit. I plan out my finances as best as I can. Sometimes I have to use overdraft protection just to make it through the month. Instead what is happening, Arvest is using my overdraft protection as a profit center!

They are crooks. I called their  customer service, and they told me it's not their fault. They post whenever the retailer tells them to. But then why doo these retailers wait until my balance is low to start delaying their posting? Hmmm. Also, then why do already posted transactions get rearranged? Hmm. I think they were feeding me a line.

They know I don't have enough money to sue them, and they know it is a hassle to switch banks. So they treat me like crap and steal my money.

Ok, for one, any checking acct should use a savigns account as the 'overdraft protection'. Doing that any other way, does cost $$ and at times too much. All banks have this same issue on overdrafts.. .but #1 thing, is to always have extra $$ in savings as bakcup. Even when I was unemployed for about 3 years I still was able to budget small and avoid the overdraft issues. arvest isnt the problem...as all banks have the same problem on overdrafts.
