Arvest Bank ripoff overdrafts Tulsa Oklahoma
Arvest has made a fistful of dollars on me this last week. They floated my deposit, debits, ATM withdrawals, and checks written for several days as "memo transactions". They finally put them in an order where it overdrafted my account and they hit me 10 times with $17.43 overdraft fees!!

As I mentioned before, people watch those checks. With the new system, you can write a check to someone today, they can deposit it today and it can hit your bank TODAY. CR/CU said the banks were expecting up to 7 MILLION MORE NSF checks/transactions, at a cost to the consumer of $170 MILLION MORE IN NSF FEES. Now that I think about it, that figure might be on the conservative side. I've seen a few checks that have cost over $100 by the time you get done with NSF fees and merchant fees and such. Funny how it doesn't apply to the deposit side of the equation, in our benefit, just the banks ability to rack up more fees. They have that float/hold when you deposit a check into your account, which can take up to 14 days, but when you write a check, man it gets there fast.
