ASAP Motors And Transmissions dishonest ripoff stole restocking defective product Houston Texas
In April of 2003, I purchased a BMW engine from ASAP Motors and Transmissions. The process went smoothly until the engine was received. Upon pulling the OIL PAN, a significant amount of ENGINE COOLANT was found in the pan. Because coolant is very hazardous to an engine, we decided to follow a standard procedure of testing the coolant system for a leak. Sure enough, we found a leak. Upon consulting a "technician" at ASAP, we were authorized to send the engine back. Upon their receipt, they refused to refund us the total cost of the engine. The end result is a net cost to me of upwards of $900. ASAP Motors and Transmission stole this money from me. The engine was tested and found to be unsuitable for practical application and consequently we returned it to a company who would admit no problem with it. Don't do business with these jerks, they will just steal your money.
I hope I have saved someone their hard earned money, it seems that mine is gone for good.

I'm an x-employee that can verify that this company is a scam. I leave my name out due to the fear that they might try to hurt me. I'm an inside witness that this company is not selling 30,000 mile engines and most of the engines are NOT from Japan. The company makes money two ways.
The first way is by selling engines that are basically out of the junk yard or a "Core" engine. They sell these engines to people who want a cheap repair. They make money because the engine is not worth much in the first place. A lot of customers install the engine in the car and sell quickly or the customer gets lucky and the engine works for awhile. Therefore the company has made it scam money the easy way.
The second way and the reason you should not do business with this company is the restocking fee. Those people with good mechanics are informed that the engine is not worth putting in the car and should be sent back. The customer sends the engine back and the company informs them that they made a mistake and sent out a core engine on accident (This would be classified as a bad engine returned in place of a good engine) These core engines could be rebuilt, but are just used for more scams. Once the customer received the second engine in just as bad of shape he is looking for a refund and they return that engine is well. Upon reciept of this engine the company tells the customer that there is nothing wrong with the engine and will refund the money minus shipping and 10-20% restocking. They have just made there scam 500-1000 bucks.
The moral of the story is not to do business with these people. They have been sued several times, but in Dallas it is near impossible to collect. These people are crooks and had to stop working there because of my consience. The best thing to do is get the word out not to do business with them.
