Asap Motors what a joke, liars dishonest crooks ripoff Houston Texas
I am a retired machinist with 30 years of experience and have worked on autos for a long period of time. When a neighbor asked me to troubleshoot a 1985 toyota pick up I agreed and determined that the engine had a bad rod bearing and suggested to him to purchase a engine online. I ran a search and gave him a list of 9 hits I received.
Thinking he was doing the right thing he purchased the most expensive engine on the list from ASAP MOTORS. BIG MISTAKE. The engine was purchased for a price of $1695 not including shipping. The price was $800 higher than any other engine on the hit list.
When the engine was received it was the wrong application. Supposed to be a carb engine and it was a fuel injected engine. I called them and told them about the error. Speaking to some guy named STEVE who smartly replied that they had been in business for 11 years and it was simple to fix, just take 20 minutes to change the engine over by swapping the intake manfolds from the other engine.
After paying another $100 for a gasket kit and 8 hours of labor I made the swap. While changing some oil piping I turned the water pump by hand, guess what it was locked up. After seeing that decided to removed oil pan to inspect rods and mains, guess what oil pickup was clogged with metal and debris. Oil pan was full of plastic debris probably from timing chain area.
Called SAAP MOTORS oops ASAP MOTORS and told them there low milage 1800 dollar engine was junk. Their reply, sorry sent the wrong engine by mistake, ship it back and we will make it right. Well six weeks now I have no engine for my neighbor, he's out 1800 dollars I'm out 400 dollars parts and labor and I have a pick up truck blocking my driveway.
What a nightmare. How could anyone work for a company like ASAP MOTORS and go to sleep at night. Save your money don't buy from SAAP oops ASAP MOTORS THEY ARE TRULY A BIG JOKE.

My neighbor called yesterday to update me on the progess from our motor. ASAP MOTORS told him they would refund $1400 of the $1800 invested. The other $400 goes for a restocking fee. So lets see.
A. Buy motor for $1800
B. Discover motor is junk
C. Return junk motor
D. Pay $400 for restocking fee
E. Lose $400+$100 for gasket set+$300 labor cost
F. Net results=Neighbor out $800 and no money refunded yet
Its a real shame that as hard as people have to work for their money that they get taken advantage of by people like this. I took this job on to suppliment my modest retirement income. Now I feel bad because I was the one who suggested my neighbor buy an engine online. But I do sleep well because I am honest and I am proud of my name. Try to get your money back quick

I've had problems with them for 9 months now and gave up eating $2100 for an engine. Try to get your money back quick if you can, if you paid with a credit card, call'em and get it back that way, but don't beleive a word asap motors says, I've heard it all.
