In January of 2015, I had two job offers.  I really wanted to work for Ascendum.  The company made it sound as if it was a small IBM.  I had worked for IBM for over 7 years and the only thing wrong there was the company politics.  So when given an opportunity to work for a smaller, yet technology enabled company that could compete with the needs of the Fortune 500, I jumped.  Soon after I was hired, I began to notice that the company didn't have certain capabilities that they claimed they had in the interview process.  I was hired to focus on a retail software product, a company owned datacenter, and engineered custom software.  I later learned the retail product was being discontinued.  The data center needed, in estatemated dollars, $2,000,000.00 to bring it up to speed where they told me it already was during my interview.  I have never sold engineered software products.  I went to the Vice President of delivery of engineered sofware products, Mr. Mark Olszewski.  I had invited him to lunch so we could have a relaxed setting and discuss where he thought I could make the biggests impacts for the company in the shortest period of time.  He must of misunderstood what I was trying to do.  He took my conversation to mean I wanted to resign.  I found myself in the HR department with resignation papers on the desk the very next morning.  I never said I wanted to resign.  I never indicated I wanted to resign.  All I wanted was direction on how to do my job.  I did not sign any papers and HR lead me not only out of the facility, but off the parking lot.  The last words spoken to me by an Ascendum employee were, "If you come back we will have the police arrest you."
