This company is suppose to help you get new financing for defaulted loans. They charge $300 to complete paperwork on your behalf and submit it to Direct Loans. To my surprise I could have done this on my own and had them NOT use my social security number to acquire credit fradulently.
Not only did they fradulently use my SSN they didn't submit the paperwork properly and my loan was denied by Direct Loans the first time.I had to then send the paperwork to direct loans regarding my student loan information for them to pick the loan up and take me out of default status.
This took a 6 months to be completed when Asgard financial said it would be 45 days tops. My loan has now been taken over by Direct Loans. But to anyone looking to get out of default status just deal with Direct Loans on your own. You will have to fill out the paperwork yourself anyway all asgard does is send the paperwork in and you can do that yourself.
They CLAIM I am the only consumer they have had to make a complaint but I seriously find that hard to believe. If they did it to me they did it to soemone else. I had to call the BBB in Atlanta numerous times to get them to post my complaint. I complained months ago and they never posted anything on them. After calling everday and demanding my complaint be posted since they never responded to my complaint in the first place they finally put it on there. I
believe other people have filed complaints witht he BBB of Atlanta but for some reason they have not followed up and insured all the information was documented on there website. If you have ever dealt with asgard call Ami Amin at the Atlanta BBB let her know you too have been defrauded and want your complaint listed on the website with mine. Anyone who hasn't yet fallen into there scheme DON'T they promise the world and all they do is take your $300 and give you nothing for the money.

Asgard Financial provides a service - it is up to the consumer to "take it-or leave it". You pay a fee to get your paperwork to the proper institutions. Think about this, most services for which we pay can be done by us, ourselves, but for some reason or other, we fail to do them or choose not to do them.
For example, I go to a hair salon and get charge by the stylist to do my hair, even though I can do my own hair for free! It is my choice, I am not FORCED to do this! I can give many examples, any rational person could!
In other words, the lady could have searched around for other alternatives and could have done it herself-----the point here is, consumers pay for services that they either don't want to do themselves or are to lazy to do(like me styling my own hair).
And on the subject of the lady giving out her SSN number (her choice), anything to do with credit involves using your SSN number, in order to GET a loan you have to give them your number, so in order to retrieve the information to correct credit problems, your SSN number is then again used. Once again RATIONAL consumers know this and they also know that it is their choice whether or not they give out their SSN number for this purpose.
