I won the bid on this "retro scooter" on e-bay (item # 320010069688) from the user named "scooterstoadore" on July 25th, 2006. The bid amount was $500, and with shipping, a total of $674. I had to get confirmation, and my payment was recieved by August 8th. (I paid by money order through U.S.P.S. on July 29th from 48134 Flat Rock, MI.) The user going by A. Goodman, confirmed on the 8th, and said the scooter was on order.

A week later, he/she e-mailed me again to make sure I wanted a specific color, being blue in this case. I responded, in which case he/she mailed back to confirm it was on order.

On September 1st, I asked him/her what the status was on the arrival. He/she responded on September 5th, saying the scooters were on container from China, and I would have one sent as soon as the order came in. During this period, I also checked this users e-bay account, and he/she is no longer an e-bay user.

On September 21st, I asked again what the status was, and the response (September 25th) was that it was really coming in, and there was a slight delay. He/she also stated that they could forward me the copy of the shipment. So I responded that I would like one. As of now, I have heard no response.

I tried to contact the number, and a woman's voice answers without stating a name, and I cannot leave a message, because it says the mailbox is full. The last attempted contact by phone was October 5th, at 5:30 p.m.

Baloney!

Ashley/Angela:

Your answer is baloney. The size and weight of an item does not matter to Customs. Your customs broker should have had it cleared in a matter of hours. Just last month I imported half a ton of manufactured goods from China. My broker had the paperwork done for Customs even before the container was unloaded and my stuff was moved to the bonded warehouse.

But its doubtful that you were the actual importer.

I think you are one of those eBay lizards that sells stuff they do not have and then orders it from a drop-shipper after you get the buyer's money. Ebay requires that you be able to make delivery within 30 days of the end of the auction. You could not do that so eBay closed your account.

First, My name is Angela G. The buyer for this product WAS advised that the scooter he was purchasing weighs 300 pounds and was being imported from Asia. Due to it's size and weight the Customs process is lengthy.

He was advised that while the price for this product was very reasonable the downside is that the wait for the item is long. He was agreeable to that and wished to proceed. He waited for some time and after several inquiries asked to be refunded as he did not wish to wait any longer. He was refunded as he asked to be and it was resolved simply.

The buyer immediately assumed that he just would not get his purchase or his money back which was simply not the case.
