My boyfriend and I were invited to Ashley Furniture for a Halloween Costume Contest by our sales rep. It was a promotional Gimmick.

The grand prize was 1000.00 store credit. Second place was a free recliner. There were no specifcations on the recliner. We won second and third place. We were awarded with a certificate that reads " Free Recliner*" and is signed by the manager. There was also a flyer sent out regarding this, that I do not have.

I went to Ashley Furniture and picked out my recliner with my sales rep. It wad around $900.00. After weeks of calling to see if my order was placed. I was finally informed by Dana the Customer Service Manager that I would probably only receive 399 towards a recliner purchase.

I then asked for something in writing, because this had been drawn out for weeks and I had many unanswered phone calls. She finally sent me a fax stating that:

"The chair was the drifter model that retails for 299.99 any other chair and the customer would have to pay the difference. Please let me know if you need anymore information regarding this. I apologize for the becoming such a long drawn out process - Dana Hulls "

I put alot of time, money, and effort into attending the contest. I feel I have been mislead, lied to, tricked, and their gimmick to get me in the store was exactly that, a gimmick.
