On 12-30-04 I went in to Ashley Furniture to purchase a new sofa. I found one I really liked and called my husband to tell him about it. My husband asked me to go ahead and buy the matching recliner, so I asked Sandy (saleslady) about the matching recliner. She stated that they did not have it in stock but would show me the same chair in another color. She took me to the chair, I sat in it, it was nice, big, soft and cushy. I agreed to make the purchase, paid cash and went on my way.

The items arrived in about 8 days and my husband and I went to pick them up. When we got home and unpacked the chair, what a BIG disappointment! This was clearly not the chair I ordered. I called the store and was told to call back on Tuesday to speak with Sandy (this was Saturday). I called Tuesday morning and told Sandy the situation, she said she would talk to manager and call me back.

Waited all day and never heard a word, Wednesday morning I called her back and she said her manager never came in the day before, she assured me that she would call be back that day, well she never did. So Thursday I called back and ws told that I was correct and that they had been showing the wrong chair to go with that sofa, she told me to come on in and pick out another chair.

I went in and picked out a new chair on Thursday evening but it was higher than the other chair by $50.00, I asked Sandy about coming down on the price since we had had so much trouble, she said that the prices were as low as they could go but she would ask her manager on Friday morning, and would call me back after 1pm on Friday. Well, surprise....no call.

My husband woke up very angry Saturday morning and called and told the manger the whole thing, he said that he is in that office 6 days a week and that Sandy had been lying to us, he was very appologetic. He also agreed to give us the new chair for the price we had paid for the first one, so now we are waiting, we will see haow this turns out.

But, as a side note, we are very happy with the sofa, but the recliner is very cheap made, it is even coming apart at the stitches. I will never do business with them again.
