I went to the Woodbridge, NJ store and spoke to Peter. I explained I have been terminated from my job and no longer need the furniture. Instead of implementing the 25% cancellation fee and issuing my refund, he offered store credit FOR $2,300.00!!!!!!

How can that resolve my issue if I am homeless? That is the only money I had in the world!

I need my money back and I don't mind the cancellation fee!

Please help get my refund!

What does the paperwork say?

Does the paperwork you have say you get the cash back or does it state a store credit?  If it states a Store credit then you are basically out of luck.

Now not to really knock you, but if you are really saying that the $2,300 you were going to spend on new furniture is the difference between you having a house and being homeless.  Perhaps you shouldn't have gotten that furniture in the first place.

If you have a credit you may want to look around and see if anyone would be willing to "buy" it off of you.  Now of course they won't give you face value but I bet you could get someone to pay you say $1800 for $2300 worth of furniture.

Sorry for your financial downturn, but...

How is this any sort of a Ripoff?

The 25% cancellation fee does not apply to your situation...you OWN the furniture and did NOT cancel your order. My guess would be the most they could offer you, would be about 25% of what you paid.
Again, sorry for your hardship, but it in NO way is it a Ripoff.
