At this +1 (603) 446-8041 number is where the fraud begins. It's the number that you are asked to call but I texted regardless. "Hi I'm interested in your 2008 Nissan Maxima, blah Blah blah." I got response back later that day "I listed this car for my sister. Contact her at ashleysinkler1@gmail.com" Ok so I do. The email I got in return from a morelljn@cox.net is below: Hi , I am glad you are one of the people interested in buying my car. It is a 2008 Nissan Maxima SL has 90,526 mileage, VIN: (((REDACTED))), Automatic Transmission.. It is in perfect condition, no need for additional repairs, no scratches, dings, rust, special marks whatsoever. The interior looks great. It runs like new and all services are up to date. Also, I need to mention that it was never involved in any accidents, pets free. The price is $2,000 . Because of my divorce settlement, I own this car and I don`t need it because I have another car so I'm trying to get rid of it as soon as possible. I got a new job and moved to Omaha, NE for a new start. The title is legally under my name, clear and free of any liens or loans. My presence is not necessary because I prearranged the deal with eBay . The deal includes free delivery and it will arrive at your address in 3 days. You will have 5 days to try out and if by any reason you find something you don't like about it you can send it back on my expense. If you are interested in knowing more info about how the whole process works, I can ask eBay to send you an email with more information on how to purchase it. eBay will contact you shortly after they have the details with all the information that you need to complete this deal and you will also have proof that I am covered by them and a legitimate seller. If you want to complete the purchase please send me your; Full Name and Shipping Address and phone number and I will notify eBay that you are selected as my buyer and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure. I will send all photos in the next email. Thank you, Ashley

Seems legit I guess and I sent her my address and all that. No financials though. Told her go ahead and send me the pics and eBay stuff and she does. Link for pics she sent is: http://imgur.com/a/XaUAZ. For all my car people, I'll go ahead and let you know that those pics are for a Honda Accord, not a Nissan Maxima. I call her out on it, and suddenly things get iffyer. Her response below: I'm sorry for this mistake, but I'm selling 2 cars and I sent you the wrong link, this is the link to the car photo gallery: use.com/FPRQG ***********+++++++ How many cars did you get in that divorce?? Ah whatever, maybe they were rich. Nice looking car too according to those pics. eBay thing finally comes in from an email address: customer-transaction@usa.com which obviously does not end in eBay.com. Email has an attachment with a pretty realistic pdf that has the information she's collected on me and information she volunteered about "herself" and then info on how to proceed.

Longer story shorter, if things weren't weird enough, instead of ebay's traditional PayPal method of payment, it asks for me to make payment in installations of 500$ Prepaid visa credit cards. I start accepting the very high probability that this is definitely spam and I give it one last shot and call the listed customer service number on that pdf: 888-730-3267. No answer. Screw it, I'm looking up my own number for eBay and calling them, after all, there's a case # on this attachment. They should be able to look it up and give me the low down. "Sir, we do not use emails that don't end in eBay.com and do not recognize that phone number as one of our own. Also, we always have items listed in gallery and assign them an item number. Ask the seller for the item number, look up the item on our website and pay for it there if listed. If it is not listed, we are not associated in any way with this purchase. You cannot have buyer or buyback protection without selling and listing the item with us. Also, items don't have a case number unless they are being investigated so if there's a valid case number being used, it's best not to buy that item or from that seller regardless. Lastly, we only use PayPal, not Visa for forms of payment. You are being spoofed. Please report this seller to spoofed@ebay.com." Hell no I did not pay her. Told her to provide valid eBay info to continue. She's gone silent. Save yourself the trouble and research her like I did. Don't trust anything on the Internet.
