I got my bank statment today and notice that a large amount of money was taken out of my account without the company contacting me.

I called the nunber of the company #866)834-1715 and was put on hold for 1/2 an hour and no one never picked up the phone but put on a recorder.

It is a misleading false advertising to get your credit number and then charge you with more products without your approval

I received and order on 6-8-04 and by 7-6-04 they had shipped out another order. I tried several times on the 7-6- 04 and 7-7-04 and 7-8-04 to reach them and make sure they did not send me any more products, its no good. Finally on the 7-9-04 , I got through to them and that's when I was told that they had already shipped these products out.

I think they no that when a consumer does not call within the 30 days , because they are ttying the product, then just before the 30 days is up they will ship out more products and bill your account.

Shipping and How to Cancel

While I agree with most of what you are saying I just have to explain the shipping. When calculating shipping, you have to include the shipping materials as well. Now in most cases, you might be right, it might only cost around $2.50, but they factor in materials and handling. So I guess the keys words when they explain the charge is "shipping and handling". Trust me, they do NOT make money on the $4.95 sample pack. Actually, it is $4.50 shipping, I just went along with what you said. However, if you order a larger package, it does go up a little bit.

Where they make their money, is by getting people to stay on the Managed Care Direct plan. MCD for short. When you order, you are told about MCD. That is that automatic billing process that is mentioned on this site so often.

However, if you force the issue at the time of ordering, they will offer you the free sample without the MCD as a last resort. The agents make a smaller commision, but they would rather have a low one, than not at all.

They do have a system in place that records darn near 100% of all sales calls now, and a team of people that listen and score those calls. If there are any issues, they flag the agent, and call the customer back and rectify the issue. It is an almost zero tollerence environment. The first offense lands the agent a suspension. The second termination. They are trying to make things better.

This goes to anyone that orders in the future after reading this. Ask lots of questions. State that you would not like to be on MCD if you do not want to be. Also, ask for the Customer Care number at the time of ordering. Wait three days, then call CC and cancel any further shipments. They can not, and will not credit any MCD shipments that have already shipped, so you have to be on the ball on this. Also, beware the CC agents will try VERY hard to keep you on MCD, and make you many offers. If you take any of those offers, you ARE STILL on MCD and WILL get further shipments. If you are set on it. You must continue to say NO.

Hope that helps.

Also, you can cancel further shipments at www.askberkeley.com. The link is on the left hand side of the page. Look for CANCEL Managed Care Direct button. The link is https://www.askberkeley.com/mcdcancel.html.

Share this article with others. It will show them how to cancel easily.

ASKAVLIMIL.COM AND OTHERS

#6Consumer Suggestion

Fri, June 25, 2004

Askavlimil.com and all of the products sold on that website or at that phone number have some extra charges that people need to be aware of.

Firstly, you only get the "free trial" when you pay the $4.95 shipping fee AND agree to become part of the "managed care" system that automatically charges your credit card on a monthly basis.

Secondly, there will always be 2 charges per month - one for the product and the other for the shipping. The $4.95 for the shipping is much too high - it comes in the regular mail and has a weight classification closer to $2.50.

I was not happy to find that I was on the "managed care" system and that my card was being charged. I called and cancelled. I was fortunate enough to have a very polite and respectful service representative who did indeed take care of situation. Kudo's to her.

Anyway, the best way to get these natural products is to go to Ebay. Much, much cheaper and the shipping costs are much lower. Many will ship for free.

Unwaranted Complaint... premature and accident fashion

#6Consumer Comment

Wed, June 23, 2004

I submited a complaint about askenzyte.com in a premature and accident fashion, and I wish to rectify my error in the following comment.
I had ordered supplies from this company under a different name and did not recognize the name on the credit card as the billing agent.

I wish to say that I called the phone no. listed on the card and was politely and carefully made aware of my order with them. The young lady was fast and efficient over the phone and was very prompt in cancelling the order for the product as they had advertised they would do if they were called for cancellation,I therefore do not have a complaint with this company and I apologize for any misconceptions that may have arisen from my complaint on this board....

Tue, June 22, 2004

This is truly a first scam on the net. and I have NO intention of standing by while the steal my money..The 1st charge was for 2.00 on 5/30/04 and the second for 2.50 on the same date then a third and whopper for 65.50.The wtyle they are using seems to appear to use small amounts to see if they will obtain resistence, then they drop the big one.I will be in touch with my card supplier to get this straightened out and let you know the results...
