Be very careful when trying any of the AskCS websites. You may well be cheated.

I signed up for a 3 day trial to one, fatfantasies.com. The signup screen said "Instant Access - $2.95 Unlimited Trial". That's a direct quote. But within 45 minutes, all I could do was view thumbnails. If I tried to see anything full screen, or access any of the linked subscription content, I got a message saying "as a trial member you have reached your limit for viewing full size pictures" and inviting me to join - at full price of course - if I wanted to see anything more.

I emailed them about this, and all they wrote back was that the member agreement specified this limitation. But what it says is, trial subscriptions "may not necessarily entitle full, unrestricted access".

Obviously, the intent here is to rope people in and then try to coerce them into signing up. Even the use of 'may' instead of 'will' is a con, because they full well know they're going to be doing this to you. And the unlimited is also obviously a lie.

AskCS has a number of sites. I checked several, some have the restriction in the terms and some don't. But I wouldn't rely on that, who knows what these people will do? I've never run into anything like this before, and I've had a number of trial subscriptions with other more reputable sites, all of which have allowed full membership privileges for the duration of the trial.

What's really annoying about this is for me is, being asked to pay for what was in effect an advertisement by them. If they want me to get a limited look at their site, that's fine, but why am I supposed to pay the equivalent of a $30 monthly membership for that?

My advice is, steer clear of AskCS.
