After a June hailstorm came through Coon Rapids, Minnesota and other Twin Cities suburbs, it didn't take long for the storm-chaser contractors to come out of the woodwork. One of these, Aspen Contracting, of St. Paul, Minnesota, made their way through our area. One of their door-to-door salesmen knocked on our door at 10:30 PM! Unbelievable! You could get shot for doing that! But the worst came when Aspen signed up to re-roof our next-door neighbor's house. The crew did a sloppy job on their roof, they left old shingles and trash blowing about the neighborhood, and worst of all, one of their workers smashed our back patio door and came in our house to steal stuff and vandalize the place while I was at work. The crook made off with a large TV and a laptop. He also kicked holes in our walls. A vigilant neighbor witnessed the crime and promptly called the police. The offending Aspen roofing worker was promptly arrested and taken into custody. I later found out that Aspen does not carry liability insurance, so my carrier will have to cover my theft and vandalism losses.

Don't ever hire Aspen Contracting to do ANYTHING!

The person who wrote this needs to get the correct company before they post things as this needs to be retracted immediately. Aspen Contracting has had a license in MN since 2007 and has done on average 500 roofs every year in the St Paul/Minneapolis area. Aspen has had and maintained an office in the area and we are not storm chasers. We do storm work, new construction work and retail work on both residential and commercial work. We have thousands of references to show all of these.

Every Aspen employee that knocks on doors has the proper solicitors permit that is required for that city/county. Everyone must sign off with the city that they know the hours to knock in the area and what days. All Aspen employees carry Ipads that track the date and time of every single door they knock. We looked through our entire system and no in the entire state of MN has knocked on a door past 8:29 pm. It is against the law to knock on doors after 8:30 in almost every city so if there was a door knocked then there would be a police report filed as almost every residence knows the laws for soliciting. Aspen Contracting also hasn’t done a roof in Coon Rapids in 2017 calendar year. We have done plenty of roofs across the area but none in that city.

Aspen has required to carry liability and work comp insurance to maintain its license with the state. The state has it on records and we even hand out our a copy of it to every potential customer so they know that we do carry it and that its important that the every contractor they hire has insurance in place. Aspen hasn’t received one phone call from a property owner in the state of MN about theft nor has there been a single police report of theft or any police report for any matter regarding Aspen Contracting in the state of MN ever. The person who wrote this clearly has the wrong company or was making things up to destroy the reputation of Aspen who has a A+ rating with the BBB. Aspen has all the records to back up all the items that are in this response and welcome anyone to view them.
