I have been to that dentist 4 times in the 18 months or so. Each and every time that I have had service, that dentists office told me that insurance filing was pending. After I did some investigation this last week, I discovered that not only did they not file any insurance against my current claim, they also have never filed any insurance claims on my behalf with my insurance company.

I spoke to the office manager today about this.  He stated that the reason that no insurance claims were filed ( the first time) was that my insurance company was either not a PPO, or a major provider. I advised him that I had Blue Cross/Blue Shield, one of the biggest medical insurance providers in the country. 

He then advised me that none of the services were provided on my last visit were covered by insurance ( a different story than the first reason of denial).  I advised him that bite wing xrays were part of my plan every 6 months, as well as a cleaning. 

Dentist used code for perio maintenance instead of dental cleaning, which would automatically preclude my insurance processing as is ( I did not have a deep cleaning, or other non- covered cleaning procedure).

This offices billing practices are dishonest, and downright deceptive. I would strongly recommend that there services not be used unless you do not care about whether an insurance claim is filed or not. let alone filed correctly.
