Message pops up on screen saying my computer has been invaded by a virus, spyware, or malware and there is a phone numer to call to save me and my computer.  Called the number and was directed to type in the windows search box 'iexplore helpme.com' and this allows the control of my computer.  Now they want money to fix the computer problem and if I refuse and turn off my computer they claim that my computer will never work again or they would crash it!

So I paid the $149.99 to have them do absolutely nothing, but they made it look good and professional and now I have another program called 'webroot anywhere' which supposedly keeps my computer free of malware and spyware, etc. The website is not secure and the persons on the phone are the scumbags from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc.  I will make a report to the FBI's computer fraud division, but that will be too little too late.  Stupidity has its own rewards.
