I was trying to rebuild credit and got the Aspire Visa card. I had a credit line of $300.00. I made one purchase for about $60.00. I did not receive regular statements in the mail. I never knew how much to pay because they would not tell me and since I rarely received statements, I was forced to guess. Well, I guessed wrong and even though I sent my payment to them in plenty of time, I was apparently charged late fees and my interest rate was raised to something astronomical. I tried to then close the card but found it impossible to do.

I then tried to settle with them over the phone just to get rid of the card. I could only get people who spoke broken english. I tried to speak to a supervisor and I was hung up on. There was no website to contact and if you did get a live person, they could not understand you and could not help you.

They kept telling me to call another number for customer service, however I was calling the number for customer service. I tried to settle...they would not. They did tell me that if I paid a certain amount it would stop all the fees from accruing and then I could just pay off the balance. Well, that was a lie. That started the clock running again and I ended up owing even more money.

I tried several times pleading with them to settle my account but they absolutely REFUSED. Now they claim that I owe them $1,500.00 even though my credit limit was $300.00 and I only made one purchase for the entire time I had the card.

They have literally destroyed my credit and sold my account several times.

How can this kind of conduct be legal. I would like to join anyone interested in a class action suit against them. Surely there must be laws to protect consumers from this type of deceptive practices.
