While recieving information in Feb 2004 about my credit report, I was informed that there was still a problem with an Aspire Visa account. In 1998 or 1999 I had an Aspire Visa account. When I became engaged in 2000 I contacted Aspire Visa to pay-off and close that account. I was making payments through my on-line banking on a consitant basis. I thought at that time I had paid it off and closed the account.

About a year ago I recieved a letter from a collection company trying to collect on that old account. The collection company was requiring me to pay them over $1,800.00 on a $300.00 credit limit account that was suposed to have been closed and paid off.

I was instructed to contact Aspire Visa, which I did. The customer service rep was the most unprofessional and rude person I have encountered in some time. He refused to allow me to speak with his supervisor, that I would have to deal with him. And because of the length of time that had past with this account he was unable to recover any statement or information regarding my old account. He informed me at that time I would have to pay the entire balance. All I request at that time was a statement of the charges to that account and how could a closed, paid-off, $300.00 limit card now be over $1,800.00

As of this time I have not received any statement, information or correspondence from Aspire Visa. But they are still able to ruin my credit.
