ASSET ACCEPTANCE LLC BOTTOM FEEDERS...JOKE!! Warren Michigan
It's amusing to me that companies like this actually exist. How pathetic one has to be to start a business like this or to even work for this type of employer. ATTN ASSET ACCEPTANCE EMPLOYEES: HAVE SOME SELF-RESPECT...MAYBE GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND GET YOUR GED...TRY TO DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR LIVES.
Anyways, I get this letter saying they purchased some supposed debt of mine that is less than 100 dollars from more than a decade ago. Here was my response to them:
"Please be advised that I am hereby disputing the validity of this debt. I do not have and have not had any valid or current debt that you could have possibly purchased from XXX.
At this point I am requesting that you either validate this erroneous debt or cease any collection activity towards me. Please provide a copy of any contract or agreement that I would have had to have signed with Bank of America in order for there to be a valid debt. Also, you will need to provide the complete account history with itemizations including dates that would constitute this debt.
Also, please provide any proof that you have which gives you a legal right to collect this supposed debt. This would include the contract or agreement and the dollar amount that you paid to purchase this account as indicated by your letter sent to me on XXX. Please provide proof that you are properly licensed to do collections in this state.
Again, I am disputing this debt. I DO NOT have any current or valid debt with XXX. Your letter indicated that you may report information about this to credit bureaus which could be reflected in my credit report. Be advised that under statute of limitations and debt validation statutes as outlined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act it is illegal for you to report anything to my credit bureaus.
If you do not respond to this letter within 30 days either properly and legally validating this debt or closing this account that you have opened under my name, I will elevate this issue to the Better Business Bureau, the XXX State Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission. You do not have my permission to pull or look at my credit report. Be aware that if any adverse information is illegally placed on my credit reports, I will promptly take legal action to recover any and all damages and costs incurred."
Hopefully this can help other people out if you choose to respond to these losers (Which you should definitely do...put them on the mat. Tailor it to how things work in your state though. Oh...and never sign your name to a response to them either. Anyways, I'm curious to see the response. I'll update this once I receive one.
