This collection company Asset Acceptance is reporting a collection account on my credit report twice, yes duplicate so it not only looks like I owe one collection but TWO!  The worse part is that this account does not belong to me.  They have not sent me anything after I demanded proof that this account belongs to me.   I contacted the credit bureau EQUIFAX to dispute this collection and not only did they not delete it they continue to report the same account TWICE.  Finally I got fed up with Equifax and decided to file a complaint with BBB against Asset since they make it impossible to go after the credit bureau.  Asset sent me a letter in response to the BBB complaint and I quote!

"Dear Sir or Madam: Asset Acceptance, LLC(AALLC) is in receipt of correspondence from your office, concerning a complaint files by XXXX XXXX date Sept 5, 2012, and I have reviewed the same.
AALLC has investigated the information it is providing to the consumer reporting agencies the above referenced account, and cannot explain why Equifax is reporting this matter twice, however AALLC can tell you that we only have one account and that she need to contact Equifax further to resolve this matter.
However, AALLC will attempt to remove the duplicate reporting of this matter with Equifax.
Sincerely SANDI OSTLER Consumer Complaint Response Specialist"

So I contacted Equifax and I read them the letter Asset sent me.  Equifax then me "well this account is on your credit report once"  I told them I have my credit report in my hand and the letter, and the dispute results and it's on here twice!  Well not on our record...So I asked so someone deleted one account and after arguing she finally told they removed one account.  So Equifax wouldn't admit they made a mistake nor would Asset.

I want Asset to remove this account from all my credit report, once and for all.  I've asked for proof this account belongs to me and nothing.  I have filed a complaint with FTC against both Equifax and Asset.  I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General and taking them to court for this if this account is not deleted from my credit reports!
