Asset Acceptance LLC Dishonest, Rude, Refused to provide Information Warren Michigan
I received information about a problem on a credit report and looked into Experian reports to discover a bad report submitted by Asset Acceptance that was from 1999. I had never received any contacts or bills from them even though they admitted that they had my correct address. I explained that this must be a mistake or identity theft and asked to see a copy of the original bill.
The employee, Audrey, was extremely aggressive and rude and refused my request. Her supervisor ordered me to pay the $350. bill including $125. in interest and said she would not send me a copy of the original bill. (I wanted it to report identity theft to the police.) She told me to have an "Attorney call her" and hung up the phone. All my credit is perfect except this and I have lived at the same address for years.
They purposely do not send out bills and submit bad credit reports and wait for people to call them to try to discover the problem. Then they attach huge interest penalties and refuse to provide information concerning the origin of the bill. beware!

Certified Letter, Return Receipt Requested
#2Consumer Suggestion
Fri, February 25, 2005
Write them a letter, send it certified mail, return receipt requested, outlining what you wrote here, give names, dates and times of contacts, etc. Advise them that you believe this to be a case of identity theft and that by refusing to provide you with the appropriate paperwork, they are causing you undue harm. Cc that letter to the Attorney General's office in your state and the company's state, as well as your local District Attorney's office. You may also wish to contact your local DA and advise them that you believe you have been a victim of identity theft AND advise the credit bureaus.
