What can i do to find out about Asset Acceptance's claim against me? They claim I owe $422 for a NextCard that i have NEVER requested or recieved. I was thinking of just paying it to clear my credit report, then i recieved a letter from them saying that i could recieve a credit of $300, due to a class actin suite against them, if i sign some acknowledgement.... but why admit to something i've never done??? is anyone with good sound advice reading this? if so, please reply...

You should send them a certified letter demanding copies of any contract or document signed by you.

Tell them you will report them to the Assoc of Collection Agencies, and they will be fined $2500 for each violation of law.

If you don't hear from them, go to acainternational.org, and ask for a complaint form.

Fill it out, asking for $2500 fines, and then send Asset Acceptance a copy of the complaint.

If the original debt is older than the statute in your state allows, you can let them know they are violating the law by trying to collect on a time-barred debt.

good luck

these guys actually do roll over when asked to validate- I've done it myself with them for my clients.
