Northland Goup sent me this letter offering a settlement from an original balance of $11,000 plus to less than one-third - an amount of $3500 and change. How nice. I would have thought I would have gotten letters from my original lending company long before a collections.

I suspect that this company can't be ligitimate as I haven't had a loan in over three years. It's nice to be out of debt. Now if they sent a false report to the credit bureaus how do I get this off and prove this false and get it off my record.

I've worked extremely hard to get my credit score at a decent rating.
