I got an automatic call from Asset Acceptance to call back at earliest convenience. I hate them dang things. So I called and spoke with a male. He informed me that I owe money to an electric company from 5 years ago for $129.04. He said he can freeze it so I don't owe anymore interest. I asked for an address so I can mail in my payment. I refuse to give my banking info over the phone and advised him of that. He said it wasn't good enough, I had to give him the info and he can take $25 per month out.

Again, I advised him I prefer to mail it in. He told me I was not allowed, and he was not going to give me his address. They don't take payments in the mail. I told him that I was uncomfortable and he said they are a very reputable company, worldwide known debt collectors. I told him I didn't care if he was the president himself I was not doing it over the phone. Then he asked why I couldn't just pay it all at once.

I advised him I don't even get that on my paychecks. I have other bills to pay. He told me that they were more important than my fatherly duties. It's a good thing I am on medication, because I would of cussed him out real good. Anyhow, he put me on hold and put me back in the circulation for someone to answer the phone. I called back and spoke with an Orlando Irizarry. He gave me an address of:

PO 2036
Warren, MI
48090

I am looking at all these different complaints and I am noticing the addresses aren't the same. Neither are the phone numbers. I need to know the correct address so I can send my mo-fo payment. Unless what the first guy told me is illegal then I can have some fun and taunt them. I don't give a rat's *** if it's on my credit report. I have over 3/4 million on it for dr's bills for major surgeries. $129 does not scare me one bit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Micah, here is why the bottomfeeder did not want mailed payments

Micah,

That debt collector gets paid on commission along with an hourly wage. The collector usually only gets commission on what is collected on the spot, not what comes in later.

Obviously this collector needed some more crack real bad.

This is why you never speak to a bottomfeeder on the phone. It will never produce positive results for you.

Don't pay them one cent - your debt it may be barred from being recovered because of the statute of limitations has run its course.

You really don't even know it's your bill or not. Make them work for it. The Warren address is the correct address, per their website. Send them a letter, certified, do not sign it (type your signature so they won't forge yoru signature on anything) and tell them to validate this debt. They know what that term means. They have 30 days to do it. If it is your debt it may be barred from being recovered because of the statute of limitations has run its course. An open account in Ohio is only 4 years, but that doesn't deter these sleazy dirtbags.
