Complaint Review: Astral Research Services Inc

I received a letter offerring me a position with Astral Research Services, as a Customer Service Evaluator, with a check included in the amount of $3,000.00. The check was written on XOG Operating LLC, Revenue Disbursement Account and the address was 1801 West Texas, Midland, Texas 79702. on the Community National Bank of Midland. But the letterhead on Astral Researhc Services, shows the address of P O Box 87656, Irving Texas 75060. (Mystery Shopping and Paid Surveys).

I called the company to confirm as I was instructed in the letter and the lady I talked with "JoAnne Green" spoke such broken English, I could hardly understand her. This was my first RED FLAG. Then I called the XOG Operating Company in Midland, and found that they are an Oil Exploration Company and have no connection with a Mystery Shopping Service and have received other phone calls as mine. They assurred me that this was a fraudulent check.
