A warning to the good-hearted who have a belief in spirituality.
This woman will prey on you if you let her.

Cynthia Miller - description - about 5 ft 1, suntanned, blond hair,(usually worn back from her face), hazel eyes, wears white a lot. Very charming and convincing, as are most con artists I suppose. She has a prominently displayed office on the upstairs of a building facing Sunrise Blvd, near the Galleria Mall, about a block east of Gateway Plaza.

I went in for a tarot card reading early this summer as my life was a bit in disorder at that time. She made a few "hits" on the reading - which in retrospect were probably just luck on her part. She said I had karmic issues that needed work and that she felt that if I did not resolve them in this lifetime that they would continue to plague me, that this was my chance to move forward. Her fee demand was $650. I felt it was a bit much, but I thought that it would be a one time deal, and if it works,it may be worth the money. As I said, she was very convincing.

It was course, not the last money request and as time went on she just wanted more and more money. Each time it was a matter of the utmost urgency. (Yeah, her house payment or latest shopping spree probably).

In the end, I am out more money than I would care to admit, but luckily I probably got out of this less ripped - off than some people who have encountered her, as I wasn't exactly a wealthy person to begin with (there was only so much she could take from me). About a month ago, my finances were depleted, and Cynthia asked me for more money that I could not provide, and had a very negative attitude when I couldn't do anything. I was very uncomfortable with the situation, but I think the real eye-opener was when the hurricane hit, I lost a week's work, and when I called her she would not return my phone calls. It became obvious that when the money well for her had run dry she had absolutely no concern for my well-being.

I consider myself to be an intelligent person, but under the right circumstances we can all be gullible. In my case, the recent leaving of a job that had me at my wits end, pre-cancerous cells identified by a physician, a boyfriend with emotional and drug problems that was also manipulating me, and a bad home life as a child that has made me a bit susceptible in my adult life to sociopaths who see me as their meal ticket. The worse life gets, sometimes the more desperate we become for anything to lift us out of it or give us hope for things improving.

One thing I have learned in life is, you good heart is your greatest liability, especially if you live in the scam capital of the U.S.

The worst thing about the situation is that I can't tell any friends or family because it is so embarrassing. I realize how the story probably sounds to any local business authority I have tried to report this scam operation to, and I truly wonder if I will get any response at all. I also feel she is such a skilled liar that she will say anthing to dodge the situation if confronted. I also fear retaliation on her part, so for that reason, and to avoid public humilation, I am keeping my identity hidden.

Anyone reading this, take warning and avoid this pseudo-psychic and scam artist Cynthia Miller like the plague.

If you need help sorting out the problems in your life, these people are the absolute LAST place you should turn to.

I can understand very well exactly what made you turn to someone like this.

You lost your job, you may have cancer, you're in a bullshit relationship, and you came from a bad childhood.

Hell, if I had to deal with all that, I'd be temped to stand there in the mirror with the 10mm up to my head, cocked, and my finger lightly on the trigger.

But, I still wouldn't turn to an astrologer or a psychic for help. Why? Because they have nothing positive to offer. They sit there and read the pain in your life and then use it against you. Trust me, you could get a better deal from a violent sex offender. At least, when they raped you they wouldn't take your money along with it.

So, where can you turn to in times of emotional crisis?

Well, your best bet would be a level-headed friend. Or, possibly a concerned relative. Barring those, I'd look to a professional counselor. Someone in the mental health industry.

I'd find someone to talk to and help me sort out my problems that would have a genuine interest in helping me, not just sucking every last dime I had out of my bank account.

Remember this, when conditions are at their worst, that's the time when you need to be at your best.

When the water is rising all around you, and you have less than $10 in your pocket, and your car is right down to the E on the fuel gauge, then that is the time that you need to sit and come up with all the right answers.

When things are bad, you need to make all the right decisions in order to work your way out of them.

You can't afford to waste good time or money on this psychic nonsense.

Get the hell out of these bad relationships. Piss off the boyfriend so he leaves. Cut off the astrologer so she tells you to hit the road. And, the same for any other leech losers you have in your life. Cut off the flow of blood, and the leeches will drop off and go feed on some other poor fool.

Meanwhile, you'll have your money and your dignity back.

Then, all you need is somebody comforting to help you with any other life problems that you may have.

Good luck and be strong for yourself, Jennifer!

#3Author of original report

Tue, September 20, 2005

I spoke with Ms. Miller today and was unaware that her office, which had plate glass windows, was severely damaged during Hurricane Katrina. My attempts to contact her were not responded to due to her trying to deal with this situation and not being able to enter her office due to the damage and mold that had developed due to the heat and the water damage.

I wish that I could withdraw the original report, just because I am trying to communicate and resolve things with this individual. I realize that this is not allowed so I am writing an addendum.

Regardless of anyone's belief system, anyone who would read this must acknowledge that any type of spiritual or psychic work has its genuine practitioners and also its charlatains, perhaps more so than any other field. Telling the difference can be difficult, especially when one's resources have been strained by the experience and when there has been a communications breakdown. I thought that she was not willing to communicate with me because my resources had run dry. At the time I thought that gaining my money had been more important to her than my well-being.

I am interested in being fair, and will admit if I have erred. I will report on how this situation progresses.
I hope it comes to a positive resolution.

With respect to the readers and moderators.
