DON’T buy ASUS Products – Very, Very BAD.

This company sold my husband a lemon; he sent it back to be fixed.

They “fixed” it by loading it up with malware.

Details:

In late May 2014, we bought an Asus Computer, Serial number E2N0CX0498494069.

In November 2014, the Wi-fi card went bad, and we were unable to connect through the wi-fi.

After much going back and forth, we sent the computer back for repair.

It supposedly was repaired on February 21, 2015.

We received the computer back on February 25, 2015

All still within warranty.

When my husband booted up, hundreds of pop up windows started blooming on the screen, suggesting implanted malware.

He can't use tech support because tech will only answer through the affected computer, and the affected computer does not work because it's infected -- typical Catch-22.

It is so badly infected that our virus software (Kaspesky) can't deal with it. When we sent it to the repair center, it was clean. I can only think that a disgruntled employee decided to do some damage, but no one seems to want to do anything about it.

Best Buy, where we purchased our computer, tsked, tsked us because we didn't buy their "service policy" and sent us on our way.

We can't get the attention of Asus because we can't get in touch with them through the infected computer.

We would like a refund so that we can buy a computer that works properly and from a company that stands behind its products.
