Purchased a ASUS router from Fry's Electronics to replace failure router at home.  ASUS indicated a $25 rebate.  We had about 10 days to comply with filing restrictions.  We got home, printed rebate form, cut out the UPC code from the box (it fit the outline of the UPC on the rebate form), submitted sales receipt and mailed same day.

On Feb 20 received email confirming receipt of our rebate form.  On Feb 25, received an email declining the rebate stating wrong UPC had been submitted.  Since there are only 2 UPC codes on the box, we cut out the second UPC barcode and mailed it to ASUS rebates.

We have subsequently called ASUS 9 times checking on the status of the rebate.  Each time we have had to wait 15-30 minutes to get an agent to help us.  Two weeks ago we were told everything had been received and the representative indicated that a supervisor had to approve the rebate and we would be receiving an email shortly.  After waiting two weeks, called today and told nothing has been approved, but to call back tomorrow.

Obviously ASUS intends to make this a paper chase to cause customers to give up for the advertised and promised rebate.  By constantly wasting customers' time and creating roadblocks, ASUS never really has to deliver on promised rebates.  Very deceptive and unethical behavior by an established company.  Shame on ASUS - there are alternative products out there.
