At & T - Bellsouth the sales department lie to get your service. i wanted to cancel because there was no phone jack in my house, they lie they would waived the installation fee of $90 for me until i received my first bill Internet
When i moved to my new place i decided to use AT& T for my internet service. few days later, after i received their installation kids, i realized there was no phone jack in order to connect with the at&t internet system. I called the customer service depatrtment to let them know the situation and possibily cancel the service. the first representative did not know what he was doing and transferred me to sales department and of couse i was on hold for at least 10-15 minutes. then the 2nd representative told me he would transfer me to maintance dept. to firgure out the problem and possibily install a new jack. of course there was another 10-15 holding time. Finally, someone answer and told me they would schedule an appointment to install a new phone jack for me for additional $89 charge. i told them i did not want to do that and would like to cancel the account to save the hessel. The representative then told me he would like to transfer me to the dept that could waive the charge for me. of course another 10-15 mins hold again. i was really pissed off and finally when i connected to the last representative named Linda, i told her straight i just wanted to cancel the service nothing else(but of course i have to repeat my story when she asked me) She replied: i understand your feeling and would like to keep me as a value customer, i would go ahead and wavied the charge for you. i just need to set up an appointment for your installation.
few days later, the technician came for the installation. After he saw the room that we were having internet service. he told me he could do it but there would be a new installation charge. I told him to stop because someone i talked in maintance dept already waived the charge. he then called back to the company and varified with a lady call Linda that they would waived the charge. He also did confirm with me when i asked him"IF they would waive the charge for sure?" he comfirmed with me.
However, i received my first bill few weeks later. The installation charge of $89 was there and when i called at & t. no body had admitted they said they would waived the fee for me. they even told me there was no phone and computer record of that conersation. I told then i would like to talk to Linda(the lady told me she would) in south florida division, they just told me that I couldn't contact any of their local offices and employees....waht the F**K.
AT&T woudl Lie for anything to get your $$$!!!!
