We were going to switch from Cingular to AT&T a year or so ago because we needed 5 phones (one for my father), not the 4 Cingular allows. We've all been with Cingular for several years so we were surprised that AT&T asked my husband for a huge deposit - my father ended up signing the contract because for some reason they didn't need a deposit from him.

We used the phones a total of three days and tried to cancel the contracts because the service was AWFUL! We had so many dropped calls inside Oklahoma City where coverage should have been good. My father uses his as his primary phone and was not able to get calls in or out in his apartment (Cingular always worked well there). We called Cellular Connections and were told it would not be a problem and given AT&Ts 800 number. We called AT&T and cancelled.

My father took then took the phones by Cellular Connections and they refused to take them back. Next thing we know, they are demanding that we pay something like $1,500! We had already re-signed with Cingular and had not choice but to start making payments of $50 a month to Cellular Connections.

BEWARE - Cellular Connections was an authorized representative of AT&T but were not bound by AT&T's trial period! They claimed that the minute we signed the contract, we were bound to pay them huge fees if we cancelled.

Anyway, I read something about states having a three day period in which you could cancel a contract? Does that exist in Oklahoma?
