I was a customer of AT&T Home Entertainment for more than 5 yrs at my previous apartment.  When I switched to DirecTV in May 2008, I returned 2 cable boxes and 2 cable cards.  I was sent a letter saying I owed them $165 for a missing card.  I called and asked them what this was from, it was not the recently returned gear, it was from 4 years previous.  They sent new cards and claimed I never returned the old cards.  This is out and out fraud on their part, for 4 years I was a good customer, never late on a bill and they *never* told me any cards were missing.  Only after closing my account did they come up with this phantom claim of missing cards.  I told them I would not pay this fraudelent claim.  It's now on my credit file as a delinquent payment.

What's totally ABSURD is that I'm a loyal customer of AT&T, home phone and DSL service now for more than 10 yrs!

I see there is a similar report against AT&T Home Entertainment, this is a SCAM they are running in an attempt to collect more money from people that are cancelling their service.

And to be honest, at the time I cancelled because I wanted HD service at a time they were not offering it.
